Staff members at Monte Casino vowed to return to their place of work on Saturday to demand better wages.
It is understood employees went on the rampage on Friday night, burning tyres and blocking roads leading in and out of the area.
This woman said demonstrators tore up a memorandum.
They set motorbikes and cars alight. They would not allow anyone in or out of Monte Casino. They overthrew dustbins,” she said.
