Chilean students endorsed national strike
The Chilean student movement will hold a new national strike on 18 and October 19, after five months of protests by a free quality education, announced Sunday a leader of the Student Federation of Chile (CONFECH).
Unemployment will consist of a pot-banging protest, typical of the period of military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet (1973-1990) in which the protesters make noise with their pots, to be held on Tuesday 18 at night, while on Wednesday 19 students marched through downtown Santiago, told reporters, Camilo Ballesteros, CONFECH leader.
